Privacy Policy
Updated October 21, 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how the current version of CurveLens handles camera access, photos and app settings. CurveLens provides composition guides and photo color organization without requiring an account.
2. Camera and Photo Access
Camera access enables live preview, focus and capture. Add-only photo access saves captures to the system photo library. Photo-library access checks linked originals, synchronizes deletions and attempts to match older archive previews to their originals.
You can deny permissions or revoke them in system Settings. Denying camera access prevents preview and capture; denying photo access limits saving or synchronization. This version does not request microphone, location, contacts or advertising-tracking access.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
Captured originals are saved in the system photo library. The app archive stores reduced-size previews, color tags and palette values, capture time, composition information and photo identifiers linking records to originals. Composition, mirroring and other preferences also stay on the device. Archive previews do not replace the originals.
Photos and color analysis are processed on the device. This version has no developer-operated accounts or cloud photo library and does not upload photos, library contents, color tags or settings to developer servers.
4. Retention and Deletion
Archive data is retained until you delete the relevant records or remove the app. Deleting a linked photo in the archive requests deletion of the original through the system. The archive record and preview are removed after system success. Cancelling or denying system deletion keeps the archive. The system manages Recently Deleted and recovery periods.
When an original is deleted in Photos, the app removes its linked archive record after checking the library with full photo access. Limited access, revoked permission or an unavailable library is not treated as proof of deletion. Older records without a linked original are retained; explicitly deleting them removes only the local archive entry.
Uninstalling the app removes its archive and settings from the device but does not actively delete originals in Photos. iCloud Photos, device backups and backup restoration are managed by your Apple account and system settings, not by a CurveLens-operated cloud service.
5. Sharing and Third-Party Services
This version does not integrate advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, sell personal information or use data for advertising tracking. Apple Photos, permissions, App Store and system backups operate under Apple policies and your system settings. Sharing through the system or other apps is governed by the services you choose.
6. Information Security
CurveLens uses system permissions and the app sandbox to limit access to local data. It does not create face-identity profiles or use photos for advertising profiles or model training. Protect your device and backups; no storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You can review or revoke camera and photo permissions in system Settings, manage or delete photos in the app or Photos, and remove local archives by uninstalling the app. The developer cannot remotely access or restore photos on your device.
For information you voluntarily provide by email and that the developer holds, contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other rights available under applicable law. Requests will be handled within applicable legal time limits, with verification only as necessary.
8. External Websites and Services
When you open legal webpages, system Settings or an email service, the relevant website or service may process connection information under its own rules. This does not cause the app to upload your photo library to the developer. Review the policies of services you visit; website hosting is described at the end of this page.
9. Teaching Images and Policy Updates
Built-in composition examples are AI-generated teaching images bundled with the app. They are not user photos or proof of results captured with CurveLens. Viewing them does not require uploading photos. If data handling materially changes, this policy will be updated and new permission or consent requested where needed.
10. Contact
For privacy questions, requests to delete information you have voluntarily provided, or app feedback, contact the developer using the email below.
The app does not send emails automatically. Only when you choose to contact the developer will the developer receive your email address, message and attachments to handle your request. Do not send unnecessary personal information or photos. Email is also subject to the rules of your chosen email service.
Email information needed to handle your request is retained for the necessary period. You can use this email address to request deletion of information you voluntarily provided, except records that must be retained by law.
11. This website
This support website has no added analytics, advertising scripts, forms or cookies. It is hosted through Cloudflare Pages. The hosting provider may process connection and security information needed to deliver the site under its own policies. The on-device app practices described above are separate from visiting this website.
